Turkish Integrated Circuits Alliance (TICA) members met with AK Party Vice Chairman, Head of Information and Communication Technologies, and Ankara Member of Parliament Ömer İleri and his team to discuss the development of Turkey’s semiconductor ecosystem. The meeting focused on opportunities and challenges within the industry.

On October 3, 2024, members of TICA held a strategic meeting with Mr. Ömer İleri to address the current state and future potential of Turkey’s semiconductor ecosystem. The meeting, which was hosted by İleri and his team, was aimed at accelerating progress in this critical industry.

During the meeting, TICA emphasized the importance of strengthening Turkey’s semiconductor ecosystem and ensuring its competitiveness on a global scale. Key topics included addressing gaps in semiconductor production, increasing investment in R&D, the importance of public-industry-academia collaboration and its positive effects and developing the workforce needed to support the industry’s growth. The urgent need to take swift action in these areas were highlighted.

TICA’s primary goal is to position Turkey as a stronger player in the global semiconductor landscape. This meeting marked a significant step toward this objective. One of the main outcomes was the decision to establish an ongoing and effective communication between ecosystem stakeholders and policymakers. This structure will ensure that the needs of the industry are addressed more rapidly and efficiently.
